This Universal Design workshop helped me understand accessibility not just as a guideline, but as a lived experience. Through real-time observation and on-site analysis, I explored how differently abled users—especially wheelchair users and visually impaired individuals—navigate everyday spaces. By experiencing the campus from their perspective, I identified key challenges related to access, movement, signage, and safety. In the later stages, I worked on proposing design interventions and spatial modifications to transform the existing campus into a more inclusive environment. These solutions included changes in circulation, addition of ramps, tactile paths, handrails, and improved wayfinding systems. The workshop allowed me to learn universal design through real examples, reinforcing how thoughtful design decisions can make spaces usable, dignified, and inclusive for everyone.
